Meall Gorm is normally climbed in conjunction with An Coileachan and make up the SE section of Fannaich range. Both Munros overlook Loch Fannaich to the south. Meall Gorm has 2 summit ridges going NW and SE. The NW ridge leads firstly to Meall nam Peithirean before joining up with the summit ridge of neighbouring Munro Sgurr Mor. This is a moderate ridge with a few crags on the eastern face. There are fairly steep sides on the western slopes especially close to Sgurr Mor but they are mainly grassy. The SE ridge leads to a col at bealach Ban before connecting with the other adjoining Munro An Coileachan.
Meall Gorm is usually accessed from the south by Fannaich Lodge but can also be attempted from the north starting from the public road at the head of Loch Droma. This however will require a longer walk in and is generally only used when combining Meall Gorm with Sgurr Mor or Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich.
This is a beautiful area of Scotland and a trip to the Fannaichs is a must for all walkers.
